Mercurial?

I wonder if that is a good adjective for me.. Or is it moody? Each day is literally, a new day for me. I wake up with a fresh perspective - maybe it’s the innate optimism I was born with, bubbling out over all the grief and anxiety I seem to store deep within. Mercurial is nice. It has a better connotation than some other words I can think of.

So, today the Director of Education and Media Arts - consequently, my boss - Keith gave us a speech. It was after our hour and a half long All Staff Meeting, where he decided he would touch base with us. Currently we’re looking at a week of 410 kids. That is more kids that I have ever performed for, no less interacted with. It was sort of to address the collective trepidation with reminding us just what exactly we do here.

Where I’m leading this is; he showed us all a triangle and asked symbolically what it represents. Delta - a moniker for change. He said that it informed his choices each and everyday. The meaning of the symbol. Change for the better - necessary change no matter how painful or awkward. That really spoke to me.

So, the mercurial thing. I guess it’s a strength of mine. Sure, I’m ever changing but hey. It’s change for the better. Necessary change.

I HOPE
